Firebirds 11U Tiernan

Firebirds 11 U Tiernan consists of players with either a 2012 or 2013 birth year. Our primary goal is to develop a love for the game by having fun and helping our players recognize their personal growth by virtue of their commitment and hard work. Players learn to play as a team, and find value in shared successes and challenges. Girls who are having fun are more open to learning and growing their softball knowledge and skills. Being part of a team helps develop discipline, motivation, and self-esteem. Players will practice good sportsmanship and learn from good examples set by the coaches. Our motto is "we either win or we learn" as oftentimes, losses are more valuable than wins in creating learning opportunities.

Coach Tiernan played softball in high school and college. She has coached JV softball at both Alexandria City HS and Falls Church HS. She coached 4 years in NVGSA before switching to coach a travel team. Coach Tiernan is currently a physical education teacher with Alexandria City Public Schools.
