Welcome to Firebirds 18U Frogale Fastpitch Softball

We are a new fastpitch softball team formed with a core group of hardworking, passionate athletes. Our team is built on a foundation of dedication, teamwork, and love for the game. While we take pride in playing competitive softball, our priority is to create a fun, positive, and stress-free environment for every player.

Our Philosophy

We believe in fostering a team culture where athletes can grow, improve their skills, and enjoy the sport without the added pressure of high-stakes recruiting or college showcases. This makes the Firebirds a great fit for players who want to stay active, compete at a high level, and have fun doing it.

Tournament Schedule

The team will participate in local USA Softball and USSSA tournaments throughout the season. Our schedule is designed to minimize or eliminate the need for overnight travel, allowing players and families to stay close to home and maintain a healthy balance between sports, school, and other commitments.

Meet the Coaches

The team is led by two coaches who bring a lifetime of softball experience and a deep connection to the Northern Virginia community. Both Coach Frogale and Coach Powers grew up in the area and began playing softball in elementary school for Holy Spirit Softball—now known as NVGSA. They continued their careers at Woodson High School, where their love for the game grew even stronger.

Coach Frogale currently coaches at Lewis High School and brings over 15 years of coaching experience to the team. Known for her positive leadership and player development skills, she is committed to helping athletes build confidence both on and off the field.

Coach Powers also has several years of coaching experience and she shares the same passion for mentoring young athletes and creating a supportive, team-first environment. She is a former pitcher with great experience coaching the mental side of pitching.
