Firebirds 10U-Palazzo, still feeling good after their championship at the USSSA Freeze Bullying tournament two weeks ago, followed up by winning the USSSA Military Appreciation 10U-C tournament this weekend in Nokesville. In the semifinal against the top-seeded Ashburn Comets, the Firebirds prevailed, 11-10, in a wild game in which Bailey S. and Caitlyn L. drove in runs in ITB. In the championship game, the Firebirds jumped out to a 5-0 lead and held on to defeat the Vipers Black, 5-3. Mya C. was great in the circle, giving up just 3 hits. Baylee S., Caitlyn L., Molly R. & Mya C. all contributed RBIs.

Firebirds 16U-Knapp did not allow a run on Sunday en route to claiming the 16U Open Silver Bracket championship at the Softball Nation Fall Nationals in Williamsburg. They blanked the Penninsula Patriots, 5-0, in the semifinal, powered by Sammy Stuart's strong pitching. She gave up just 1 hit and struck out 14 (14!!!!!) in 5.0 IP. In the championship, they took down the Coastal Storm Black, 12-0. E Knapp allowed just one hit over 3.0 IP. Emily Lampela went 3-3 with 2 RBI and 4 R, and Erica Shoop was 2-3 with 4 RBI.

Ella Meyer, P/1B/OF for Firebirds 18U-Meyer, has committed to play softball at Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA. Meyer, the 2019 National District Player of the Year for Edison High School, has been a Firebird for seven years. Congrats Ella; we can't wait to see you in the orange and blue of the Bullets!
